CORK - Midsummer Festival: 13 June 2009 - 28 June 2009

The 2009 Cork Midsummer Festival will explode into the city in June with 16 days and nights of music and mayhem. Running from 13th - 28th June, this 21st century festival will be bigger and better than ever before, spanning a jam-packed two weeks, with experiences to appeal to everyone. The 2009 festival will see the return of the ever-popular Irish Examiner Spiegeltent, which will host an abundance of shows featuring new surprises as well as seeing the return of much-loved favourites! Corcadorca will return with a new production, which promises to be as unique as ever. For the first time, Cork Midsummer Festival will host the Street Performance World Championships. Fun and free, this will be the must-see highlight of the summer for families and performance enthusiasts alike. Outdoor installations and interactive entertainment are among some of the gems of Cork Midsummer Festival 2009, taking the festival to the people, with events, gigs, and performances spanning across theatre, dance, music, and art.
